Các nhà nghiên cứu đã phân tích vùng promoter của gen này và xác định một vùng điều hòa trung gian dài 56 bp chứa các vị trí liên kết cho yếu tố GAGA và yếu tố Adf-1. Các thí nghiệm đã chứng minh rằng cả hai vị trí này đều có chức năng và vùng promoter này có khả năng tăng cường biểu hiện gen một cách độc lập với hướng. Ngoài ra, nghiên cứu cũng phát hiện hai loại mRNA α-F1-ATPase có độ dài khác nhau ở vùng 3′ không dịch mã do sự lựa chọn các vị trí polyadenylation thay thế.
