Nghiên cứu mang tính thăm dò này nhằm điều tra các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến động lực học nói tiếng Anh của học sinh lớp 10 tại trường THPT Thanh Ba. Mục đích chính của nghiên cứu là xác định các loại động lực mà học sinh lớp 10 tại trường THPT Thanh Ba sở hữu, các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến động lực nói tiếng Anh của học sinh, các hoạt động và kỹ thuật được giáo viên áp dụng, cũng như sở thích của học sinh. Từ đó, nghiên cứu đưa ra các giải pháp gợi ý cho giáo viên nhằm kích thích học sinh nói tiếng Anh và khắc phục những khó khăn mà học sinh đối mặt trong giảng dạy kỹ năng nói. Nghiên cứu này được thực hiện kết hợp phương pháp định tính và định lượng, sử dụng các công cụ nghiên cứu như bảng hỏi dành cho học sinh và giáo viên, phỏng vấn sâu và quan sát lớp học.
