This dissertation explores the critical role of effective aid coordination in the development of the power sector in Lao PDR. It delves into the current status of Official Development Assistance (ODA) in the country, examining its impact on economic growth and poverty alleviation. The research highlights the potential of hydropower as a key energy resource for Lao PDR and discusses the policy implications for its development. Drawing lessons from successful aid coordination models in countries like Vietnam and Timor L’Este, the study aims to propose effective policies and solutions to promote the efficient use of external aid in the power sector.
